This Hofner Galaxie would have been top of the range of guitars by Hofner. Built in Germany in 1963 and cost c.£70 in the UK when new.

B.C. Rich Warlock
This N.J. Series bass was built in Japan (not New Jersey) in about 1986 and features the “battle scars” of a well used “metal” axe – but still looks fantastic! Now I must find a vintage Ironbird and a Bich…

Zenon
Built in Japan and in the mid ’60s with “Jaguar” styling, this great looking guitar features triple rocker switches and a red body in an eye-catching gold sparkle. Later in the decade Zenon guitars were marketed under the Morales brand name.
Kay LP Synth
Built in Korea in the early ’80s this guitar is loosely based on the Gibson Les Paul Recording but with the following built-in battery powered effects…echo, tremeolo, wah, whirldwind and fuzz and an amp. or battery option.
Meinel and Herold
Build c.1960 in the DDR (East Germany) possibly at the Musima factory and featuring a white plastic tiger striped body. This old established instrument maker and retailer was closed in 1973 by order of the “Democratic Government”!
Hondo M-16
Rambo Machine Gun guitar built in Japan around 1980, this is the original definitive guitar which almost coincides with the first Rambo film. Now very collectable (and much copied), mine was supplied with a sheepskin lined case!

Teisco SS4L
Model 960, MIJ, dating from 1964 and featuring a bewildering array of switches, wheels and gold foil pick-ups as used by Ry Cooder and Elvis Costello. This is the Teisco version of the late 60’s “Hound Dog Taylor” Kawai.

Kawai Teardrop
Built in Japan in about 1968, this semi acoustic guitar was based on the Vox Teardrop models which were built in the U.K. and Italy and famously used by musicians like Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones.
Teisco
This budget guitar with Tulip shaped body was built in Japan in the late 60s by Kawai after their 1967 takeover of Teisco. Surely in this guise, with 4 Ry Cooder style pick-ups, it must be rare especially in U.K.
Tele-Star Sparkle
Built by Kawai in Japan in about 1965 and imported into the U.S.A. by Tele-Star Musical Instrument Corporation of New York, N.Y.. This Tele-Star features a cool gold sparkle finish and Burns Bison styling.
