This Guyatone LG50 dates from about 1961 and was also appeared under the brands Antoria and Star.
It was also popular with young rockers from the late 1950s and early 1960s like Marty Wilde, Hank Marven and Johnny Guitar of Ringo Star’s first band Rory Storm and the Hurricanes!
The Guyatone LG50 played here by guitarist Simon Jones uniquely features a Dallas Rangemaster vibrato tailpiece.

This Gretsch TW100T was built in the 1980s by Gretsch to promote the ‘super group’ The Travelling Wilburys.
It features the facsimile signatures of the band: Lucky (Bob Dylan), Otis (Jeff Lynne), Charlie T. Jr. (Tom Petty), Lefty (Roy Orbison) and Nelson (George Harrison)!
Simon Jones showcases one of his favourite electric guitars – the Othon Stone Guitar! Built by luthier Robert Othon in the US, the finish on the body of the guitar really is marble.
Needless to say this is an absolutely stunning guitar to look at and listen to!
One of the first commercially sold UK solid electric guitars. Only beaten by Supersound and Burns Weill, this is quite a historic guitar!
Having said that, it is a budget model and quite a challenge to play. Phil Walker lives up to his ‘Guitar Hero’ status and makes the Dallas Tuxedo sound great!
